Chalet The Lodge, Verbier, Switzerland

Season 2020-2021: If you book a holiday and it includes a flight then you have booked a package holiday and you are protected by the Package Travel Regulations. These mean that if your accommodation cannot be provided you are either offered an alternative of the same quality, or a cash refund, or the chance to book again at a later date. As we have seen from experience any monetary refund may take a few months to be paid out but in the meantime your money is protected by the ATOL scheme.

Situated on a quiet road just 250 metres from the main ski lifts and backing onto one of the home pistes, Luxury Chalet The Lodge is in a perfect location for the slopes. Fifteen members of staff will ensure every need is catered for by offering the highest level of service and attention to detail perfected from their years on Necker Island (in case you haven't guessed it this is Richard Branson's luxury chalet in Verbier). The Lodge itself provides a unique and fun setting: try some curling on the mini-ice rink, swim in the indoor pool, be pampered in the spa, or just relax after a day on the mountain whilst enjoying a wide selection of tailored menus and fine wines. Whether you need to entertain your children or fix you the perfect gin & tonic, leave it to the impeccably trained staff.

The Lodge accommodates up to 18 adults in 9 bedrooms and up to 6 children and young adults in a specially designed bunk room. Rates during the winter season are quoted for seven nights exclusive hire of The Lodge for 18 guests. You can reserve individual rooms at The Lodge during the winter season if the chalet has not been booked for exclusive use six weeks prior to your arrival date.

Relax in the lounge in front of a roaring fire curled up on a comfy sofa. Or if your muscles ache, take a dip in the indoor heated pool, or warm yourself up in the indoor or outdoor Jacuzzi. Later on, tuck in to some of the exquisite dishes from the kitchen - order what you want, or let the staff surprise you! Once a week you can listen or party to live music from talented local musicians. The Lodge also has a fully equipped gym, a steam room and a party area. You can shoot some pool or dance the night away all underneath a twinkling disco ball. If you want to take it easy the staff can pop on a film for you and your friends or family on the large plasma screen (there is a great selection of DVDs) while you enjoy a few drinks from the bar.

The food served at The Lodge is one of the highlights of your stay - the chefs serve a mix of Swiss and international cuisine. Dining can be as formal or informal as you wish, from full four-course gourmet meals to healthy meals with the children. Meals can be themed, traditional or a mix! There is a great range of international wines, top quality spirits, international beers and excellent house champagne. Winter rates include breakfast and afternoon tea, as well as dinner on all but one night during the week, when you'll be able to sample the best of Verbier's culinary delights. Each day the staff will book a table for lunch somewhere on the slopes. If you make it back to The Lodge for lunch, or if you choose to stay behind during the day, a light lunch will be served (included in the rates). All guests are encouraged to treat The Lodge like their own home and are welcome to help themselves to drinks they want at any time.

The Lodge is a great place for a family holiday as there are plenty of things for children to do. Children of all ages will be invited to take part in The Lodge Rangers. There is a set welcome pack and range of great activities available on request, including children's DVDs, toys, an Xbox, books, games, and treasure hunts in the evenings if they are not too tired. The Lodge also has a kids' bunk room which can accommodate up to six children. Babysitting can be arranged for an extra charge; just give at least 24 hours notice. Please note that during peak weeks and school holidays more notice may be required. Special food and beverages or simple snacks and light meals can also be prepared.

With well over 50 luxury Verbier chalets (a number that is constantly growing) it's not hard to see why this world famous ski resort is popular with the rich, famous and wealthy from around the world. The party scene in this vibrant resort is as well known as the fantastic skiing so for a holiday in Verbier you need to be fully fit and on your party A game. Parties stretch long into the small hours and if it's a powder day the next day you will be expected to be up the lifts early in the morning. There's no rest for the wicked in Verbier! The resort centre of Verbier offers some great shopping and the sports centre will keep non skiers happy also. There are some world class restaurants here and the views across to the Dents du Midi mountain range are always spectacular. Verbier has to be in the top five of anyone's best ski resorts list so we would suggest booking a ski holiday here soon!

We say...
If it's good enough for Richard Branson then it's probably good enough for the likes of you and me! This is a stunning, luxury property that is situated in an exclusive area of the resort. Until very recently it was the most luxurious chalet in the whole of the Verbier region. It's fair to say that there are now a couple of new mega properties in Verbier that surpass The Lodge in terms of grandeur. However, the service remains as impeccable as ever and the staff effortlessly combine professionalism with good old fashioned hospitality. Be prepared to be seriously impressed.
