Luxury Chalet Lo Miete (Sleeps 12 - 14)

Chalet Lo Miete is part of the Hotellerie de Mascognaz an ancient hamlet above the ski resort of Champoluc. Essentially this is a collection of old traditional mazots which have been lovingly restored by the owners which now offers clients luxury accommodation in a truly secluded alpine environment. Staying here is an experience which is hard to find these days; immersed in the silence of its ancient history the Hotellerie de Mascognaz offers guests a taste of 14th Century Walser charm. Let yourself be transported away from the modern world and all its stress - savour the beauty and silence of nature like never before, yet still retain the feeling of being at home.

There are plenty of permanent hotel staff at the Hotellerie de Mascognaz to manage the bar, prepare meals, drive the skidoos back and forth, offer massage and generally look after your every need. So the Hotellerie de Mascognaz really operates like a small bijou hotel with accommodation spread over 6 different chalets of varying sizes. Chalet Lo Miete is the largest (sleeping 12+ guests) but there are also chalets sleeping 10, 8, 6 and 4 guests.

Chalet Lo Miete as with all the other chalets can be booked by the room or for the ultimate in privacy can be booked for sole use. The chalet Miete has seven warm, romantic rooms, and a large living room/reception where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There is a modern spa centre for retreat and relaxation which is a 5 minute walk away.

The restaurant Lo Miete where meals are taken is modern in feel and look and the food is absolutely amazing. Basically you will have a four course meal with 3 choices for each course. Wine and drinks are payable separately.

The main village of Champoluc (4 km away) is only accessible by an old trail. The staff provide snowmobile and Land rover (on snow-tracks)to take you up to the chalets. This journey takes about 10 - 15 minutes as you travel from 1500 metres to 1850 metres. Although there is no need to walk you can of course do so. The walk down the trail takes 35 minutes or you can take snowshoes and walk through the forest down to the town which takes about 20 minutes.

We say... This Hotellerie de Mascognaz is tucked away in a totally secluded and truly alpine location above the resort of Champoluc. If you are looking for a wonderful experience where the accommodation is of a high standard, the food impeccabile, the service friendly and you want to be away from it all, this will suit you perfectly.

We thought the whole experience was out of this world! Booked the holiday with John Fish (Alpine Answers) who was straight forward and professional - I thought I was in good hands throughout the process and in the end he recommended this chalet. It was worth every penny. The Champoluc ski area was outstanding. I loved the skiing on and off piste, and so did the family.

Mr J K

The snow and skiing were fantastic. We skied for 6 and a half days. The first 4 were sunny and the last 3 light snow but also lots of new snow to ski on. The Monterosa ski area is beautiful and totally unspoilt. Lots of the mountain restaurants are built in the traditional style, and lovely food. The Mascognaz is lovely. Really special with nice pool and spa area. Food was a bit average but the staff were all charming. I looked in on a couple of hotels in the resort but they didn't look a patch on the Mascognaz. Overall I think it was one of my best ski holidays ever. Thank you so much.

Mrs J C
