St Moritz, Switzerland

Famous for its luxury hotels, St Moritz is situated in the heart of the Engadine Valley near the Italian border, and is probably one of the best-known resorts in the world. Its sparkling dry climate is famous and gives St Moritz over 300 sunshine days a year. Not only is St Moritz known as the birthplace of winter tourism and modern Alpine sports, it is also the only town in Switzerland to have hosted the Winter Olympics twice.

As well as the skiing, St Moritz offers a wide variety of attractions including horse racing, polo and even cricket on the frozen lake. The many restaurants, nightclubs, cafes, clubs, cinemas, concerts, casino and of course the famous Cresta (toboggan) Run are what make St Moritz one of the most exciting ski resorts in the ALps.

The skiing in St Moritz is varied, if slightly disjointed, and is spread out over three separate ski areas which offer extensive options for all levels of skier including expert. On the mountain you can treat yourself to any of a number of fantastic meals, from relaxed family restaurants to swanky bistros. The latter, of course, will help with adding that final touch of extravagance to your luxury ski holiday.

The town’s extensive collection of 5-star hotels (the highest concentration of 5-star hotels in Switzerland) offer great options for you to enjoy your stay in this most glamorous ski resort.
