Courchevel Le Praz, France

Courchevel 1300, or Le Praz as it's now known, is a friendly, traditional rural village within the Trois Vallees ski area. It remains quiet, pleasant and a good base for families with children. The links to Courchevel 1850 are generally very efficient. However, skiers can take advantage of the resort's free connecting bus service as well.

The pistes leading down to the resort are particularly pleasant – most are tree lined and they are also perfect for bad weather days. For gastronomic connoisseurs lunch or dinner at the Bistrot du Praz is highly recommended and reputed to be one of the best eateries in the entire Three Valleys, famed for its foie gras chaud.
